Commonly used in dust collection systems in textile factories for filtering fine dust, they are often used as the second-stage filter in two-stage filtration systems. 

Their structure consists of a rotating cylinder covered with non-woven fabric or other filter media. Small, reciprocating suction nozzles on the outer guide rails of the cylinder remove dust deposited on the filter media. Filtered air enters from the outside of the cylinder, hence it is also called an external suction cylindrical filter.

Filtered air enters from inside the cylinder. Therefore, it is also called an internal suction drum filter.
