The filter media in the YTF activated carbon filter adsorber can be filled at the bottom with a 0.15-0.4 meter high layer of quartz sand as a support layer. The quartz sand particles can be 20-40 mm in size. On top of the quartz sand, a 1.0-1.5 meter layer of granular activated carbon can be filled as a filter layer. The filling thickness is generally 1000-2000 mm.

01Product Description

YTF Activated Carbon Filter

The filter media inside the activated carbon filter adsorber can be a 0.15-0.4 meter high layer of quartz sand at the bottom as a support layer. The quartz sand particles can be 20-40 mm in size. On top of the quartz sand, a 1.0-1.5 meter layer of granular activated carbon can be added as a filter layer. The filling thickness is generally 1000-2000 mm.

Before filling the activated carbon filter, the bottom filter media, quartz sand, should undergo a solution stability test. After soaking for 24 hours, it should meet the following requirements: the increase in total solids should not exceed 20 mg/L; the increase in oxygen consumption should not exceed 10 mg/L; and after soaking in alkaline media, the increase in silica should not exceed 10 mg/L.

YTF Activated Carbon Filter

After rinsing the quartz sand in the activated carbon filter, it should be carefully rinsed before being placed into the equipment.

The water flow should be from top to bottom, with dirty water drained from the bottom, until the effluent is clear.

Then, granular activated carbon filter media should be added, and the filter should be rinsed again with water flowing from bottom to top, with dirty water drained from the top.

The main function of the activated carbon filter is to remove large molecular organic matter, iron oxides, and residual chlorine.

This is because organic matter, residual chlorine, and iron oxides can easily poison ion exchange resins, while residual chlorine and cationic surfactants can not only poison the resin but also damage the membrane structure, causing the reverse osmosis membrane to fail.

The bottom of the activated carbon filter adsorber can be filled with 0.15-0.4 meters of quartz sand as a support layer.

The quartz sand particles can be 20-40 mm in size. A 1.0-1.5 meter layer of granular activated carbon can be placed on top of the quartz sand as a filter layer. The overall thickness is generally 1000-2000 mm.

Before loading the activated carbon filter, the bottom filter media, quartz sand, should undergo a solution stability test. After soaking for 24 hours, the following requirements must be met: the increase in total solids should not exceed 20 mg/L;

 the increase in oxygen consumption should not exceed 10 mg/L; and after soaking in alkaline media, the increase in silica should not exceed 10 mg/L.
